Another Chapter. (chapt 2)

Chapt. 2.
The night was cool and brisk as I slammed the hatchback volvo's door shut behind me. The party was going strong, the lights inside luminating the houses property with neon pinks, yellows, and blues. I was pumped.
Talking and laughing with Chris, I started towards the house, Kara trailing behind. She spotted her boyfriend a ways up, and waved to us.
"See you later Kara... Try not to get into too much trouble."
I had to admit, even thoug
Kara was only a year younger than me, I really didnt appreciate that boyfriend of hers. Maybe I was just acting the overprotective big sister, but I couldn't help thinking that something was wrong.
I snapped out of my train of thought, and looked appreciatively at Chris. Through it all, he hadnt said a word.
I stopped short as I looked at him. His complextion was greatly contrasted against the dark night. He was staring at me and I had a feeling that he had been the whole of the short time we were here.
"What?" I asked him. He looked like he was sick. "Oh My Gosh, Chris, are you gonna be alright?" I asked him, my voice cracking in concern.
He grimaced at me. "I'm fine," he contradicted. "I'm going to go to the bathroom for a sec. Go have fun, I'll catch up to you in a while."
I nodded curtly at him. "I'll see you later then," I reached up and squeezed his shoulder, Which seemed to make him even whiter, If that was possible. Before I could stop him, He walked off towards the house, leaving me staring at the place where he had recently stood.
I walked behind him into the house... Mansion rather. The place was huge, and it just added to my excitment. The lights got brighter as I drew near with a blinding frequency which almost threw me off track. silhouettes could be seen dancing in the windows. So far it looked as though the party was turning out a big sucess.
I opened the door and blaring music greeted me with a deafening force, making me jump a little.
I spotted some friends off to the distance. Sonya's black and red highlighted hair stood out amongst all the blondes in the group. I walked over to say hi.
As I neared, I saw a black shape looming behind one of the blondes. As soon as I saw it, it had dissapeared. I shook my head. I was obviously drinking too many red bulls.
I kept walking, and then stopped, tugging a red streak from behind. Sonya let out a little shriek of suprisement, and turned around. "What the he..." She stopped short as she saw it was me.
"Jordin!" She screached, pulling me into a forceful hug. "I thought you weren't going to show up!"
"nah, I was going to stay home and watch a chick flick with chris, But him and Kara said they'd rather come here," It was strange chris wanted to come here. He absolutely hated publicity. Maybe thats why he looked so sick earlier. Changing the topic I asked, "who are your friends?"
"Oh," said Sonya, reddinging a bit. I was just waiting for you to come here, so I thought..."
I zoned out on her, looking around the group. Gasping in suprise, I turned back to her. "You chose to hang out with 'Her?'" I asked quietly, directing my gaze at non- other than Courtney Conwell, My rival since kindergarten. I pulled her away from the blonde group. "since when do you hang out with her and her bitch cult?" I asked.
Glaring at me, she pulled away. "Ever since you've devloped the hots for Chris." She snapped back.
I pulled back in suprise. I knew she absolutely adored Chris. I just thought she had accepted that he didnt dig her. and It suprised me to hear my BFF talk about me this way... She knew there was nothing between me and Chris...we were practicly brother and sister. Making out would definately have it's negative side. at the thought of kissing Chris, I stuttered.
"How many times do I have to tell you, I dont like him! Wer'e just really good friends."
She turned away and started walking back to the bitch cult. I could do nothing else but stare. Courtney had just stolen my best friend.
Fuming, I stalked off to find Chris. I didn't think It would be hard to find him, a tall mop of red hair amongst the crowd, but he proved me wrong.
About a half an hour later, I sat down on the leather couch. I was still fuming at what Sonya had said, and even moreso at the fact that Chris couldn't be found. I knew he had not taken his cellphone, and Even if he did, he probably left it off. That was so like Chris.
I had had enough for the night. I decided to grab a pop from the cooler and walked outside for a breathe of fresh air.
I looked around to see if anybody was watching. Satisfyed, I chugged the pop back and let out a loud belch. Belchin always calmed my stomach for some weird, disturbing reason unknown to me.
I walked back to my volvo, planning to wait inside, maybe have a nap till the party was over, and Chris was ready to drive me home.
Reaching the hatchback volvo, I looked inside the slightly tinted windows. What I saw there took my breath away.
It was Chris. It looked as if the side of his face facing me was bleeding from a cut on his temple. The blood glistened in the moonlight, dripping down to his shirt. Holding back a scream I ran around the car, Not stopping to think About the killer, who could still be watching me fom the shadows.
I fumbled with the handle of the car. It was locked! what kind of killer took care to lock a car after murdering his victem? What kind of sick joke was this?
"You fell for our trap," A stratling voice sounded behind me. His words were those of a statement rather than a question. Sobbing, I turned around. I saw nobody.
"Look closer," the deepening voice commanded. I had no choice to obey. Squinting, I saw A shadow condense out of nowhere. The same shadow that I saw around Sonya and the blondes.
Now look back at Chris," the shadow pointed in the direction of the volvo's driver side. I hesitated, not wanting to look at the spectacle who was most likely to haunt my dreams forever... If I could live to see another night.
"do it NOW!" The shadow commanded.
I looked and was prepared this time to see Chris' bloody face. But I was not prepared to see what was waiting there.
